Yoh Daikan, an outfielder with the Yomiuri Giants, one of the professional baseball teams in Japan, has come together with Humane Society International to speak out for elephants. Elephants are the gentle giants of the savannahs and forests of Africa and Asia. Yet consumer demand for ivory products is responsible for a poaching crisis that has decimated elephant populations worldwide and fuels wildlife crime. Ivory belongs only to elephants. If we stop buying ivory, we have a chance to save these remaining beloved animals.
