Maryland must ban this cruelty
The Humane Society of the United States urges the Maryland Legislature to pass HB 863 to end these gruesome and unsporting events.
The Humane Society of the United States has released the results of an undercover investigation into two wildlife killing contests in Maryland. The investigators visited contest locations in the central and
southern parts of the state and documented contest participants lining up rows of dead foxes to be judged, mugging for photos with the dead animals, and young children playing and wandering around the bodies.
Investigators documented the weighing-in and judging portions of the Maryland Predator Hunting
Competition in Unionville in central Maryland, and the Southern Maryland Predator Competition in
Waldorf in Maryland’s Western Shore.
