Food Deserts & Food Insecurity
What Is A Food Desert? What Is Food Insecurity?
Hi Great Full Gang! Today’s episode is about food deserts and food insecurity. Over 30 million Americans each year experience food insecurity and over 23.5 million people live in what is called a food desert. Lack of access to affordable and nutritious food is a human rights problem and it’s important that we educate ourselves on this issue.
In this episode, I’ll be talking about how food deserts came about through the process of redlining and how we can help to make a difference to ensure more plant based foods are getting to low income (primarily minority) communities.
