Ingredients
Garlic Dough:
1 cup Warm Water
1/2 tbs Sugar
2 tbs Oil
2 1/4 teaspoons Yeast (or one packet)
2 1/2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
2 tbs Garlic Powder
1 tablespoon Oregano
2 teaspoons Minced Garlic
Vegan Garlic Butter:
**Melt all this together to make your garlic butter rub**
1/4 cup Vegan Butter
1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
1/2 tablespoon Oregano
1/2 tsp sea salt
Directions
Pre heat oven to 420F. In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, sugar, oil, and yeast. Let sit for 15 minutes so the yeast can activate. Add in the flour, salt, garlic powder, oregano, and minced garlic. Use the dough hook attachment on speed 2, mix until the dough begins to form, then turn speed to 4 & let mix for 6 minutes straight. (You can do this w/ your hands, but it will take a lot of work!) Remove when finished & roll in a ball. Place the dough in a lightly greased new bowl, & lightly oil the top of the dough ball as well. Cover & let rise in a dark, warm area for an hour. The dough should about double in size. Cut small pieces, roll out, & make them into knots :) Put the garlic butter sauce over the top if desired. Place them on a baking sheet w/ parchment paper. Give them space to rise while cooking! Cook until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Enjoy!!
